Tammy Locke
“My mom would let us stand beside her and watch her cook for years, helping out when we could.  I guess that’s where I learned to bake.  I remember by the age of 10 making the desserts for my family - pies in the fall, shortcakes for our fresh strawberries, or a batch of oatmeal cookies, my dad’s favorite, to surprise him.  I have always loved baking and cooking, and still love to surprise someone special with a bag of my treats.   I also have a passion for using local, seasonal, and organic ingredients when possible, and bring that into my baking.”  Tammy has added a production garden at her home, and also is raising laying hens for fresh eggs.

Robin  Ray

“I have been making yeast bread since I was a young girl.  My mother must have thought I could handle it, and let me make bread quite often.  I remember one of her friends saying, "Robin makes the best yeast bread", and I was hooked.  I love everything about yeast bread, from beginning to end.  I enjoy the hand kneading of the dough, and then the process of waiting for it to rise.  It always amazes me when I go to check, and sure enough, there it is, doubled in size.  The shaping the loaves and putting it in the oven is also enjoyable, but the final delicious moment eating it is the best.”

Robin also enjoys growing many of our fresh herbs.  She also has laying hens.

Nancy DiMauro - Gardener
“I have been digging things up and planting them since I was a little girl.  My first garden as an adult was planted in clay, so didn’t do very well.  But from there I progressed, and my thumb began turning green.  I was given a copy of
Organic Gardening in the early 70’s and have been gardening that way ever since.  I love trying new things, and have grown rare crops in ME such as artichokes, chick peas, and even peanuts.   My kids say I can grow anything.   Our vegetable garden is currently about 1 acre, and seems to grow every year.  We also have a small vineyard, a maturing orchard, and flowers anywhere I can put them.”

Mom has much experience in baking!  As some of the locals may remember, she had a table in Ace Country Hardware for years stocked with her goodies.

Some of The Other Daughters
“Working full time jobs or not living in this state makes it hard for us to all be a part of the business on a large scale, but whenever we can get home to Maine or are available, we help with anything we can.  It is fun to interact as a family group for the public to see. ”

Son in Laws
“We offer our support wherever we can, whether is be with financial consulting, or sampling & approving all recipes (the best part!). “

The Grandkids
“We  help in the garden with weeding and harvesting
, sometimes washing vegetables.   It’s work, but it’s also fun.”

Richard DiMauro - Farmer
“When finding out that I have 8 daughters (no sons), everyone always takes pity on me.  But I love it!  They have always helped me with my construction business, and now I am helping them with their venture.  I enjoy working in the garden, by tilling and bringing in manure, or cultivating the strawberry beds, and pruning the trees in the orchard.  Whenever they need something built, I am their go-to man.”

Dad also raises laying hens.
